weed I cannot get rid of

There is a weed taking over my yard that I have not been able to get rid of. It has a root system like creeping charlie but looks a little like poison ivy (altho after trying to get rid of it for 2 years have never broken out once and it doesn't have berries or turn red).

I'd like to know what it is but more importantly how do I get rid of it!

It is difficult to identify that plant, but the link below might be of some help. Another source of identification would be your county office of your University of Wisconsin USDA Cooperative Extension Service. When you take plant species in to them be sure they are sealed in a plastic bag.

I was thinking Virginia Creeper looks the closest but I have never seen berries on it and it doesn't turn colors in the fall. It seems immune to any weed killer and I have spent hours digging up the roots and put down black landscape cloth in one spot and it's bigger and badder than ever!!

Looks like Aegopodium podagraria to me, and that is a plant that is VERY adept at taking over!.

An Ohio State site says to hit Aegopodium podagraria "hard" with a broad spectrum herbicide in the spring.
