Big Red Sage question

Perylene

I have a Big Red Sage / Salvia pentstemonoides in my garden that I grew from seed this spring. It's still pretty small and growing a lot slower than I anticipated -- in fact, it's about to be smothered by other nearby salivas, so I need to move it to a new location. Does anybody have any advice on its light requirements? I have a bed of lemon bee balm that's almost finished, so I can move the plant there and give it more space to grow. All my sunlight options are morning shade and varying degrees of afternoon sun, unfortunately.
