You can do this, but you'll need at least 6 weeks of chilling before you can start them growing. Don't put them in the freezer, that will kill them. Temperatures between 35F and 50F are what you need. This is called forcing. Ask for more details in the bulbs forum.

I continue to promote the planting of early blooming daffodils. My Rijnfeld's Early Sensation were blooming for New Year's Day here in zone 7 (southern NC). February Gold is another early one. And of course, one bloom in January is worth 20 in April. The Early Sensations seem to bloom earlier each year. They are a lovely gold, and really brighten up my yard.
