Starting lasagna garden in the winter

Does anyone see any problem with starting a lasagna garden outside on top of the snow (zone 4)? I have a lot of straw for the "browns" and a LOT of "greens"/nitrogen that won't wait for spring. Usually I just toss them in a compost pile, but maybe I could save myself some spring work by making a future garden now.
