Late summer or early fall after it has entered dormancy would be better than spring. You can move Dicentra in spring but as it is an early bloomer, you will likely forfeit that season's flowers if you do.

I would move it when it's done blooming, as it will die back to the ground. Mine have disappeared by late summer, usually. Also, when you dig them up, check out their cool little bulbs(?)....they fall apart..giving you lots more little bulblets to plant elsewhere! April

I have a small native plant nursery and pot up dozens of dicentra every spring with absolutely no problems. Catch them just as they sprout and move them with a trowel into a similar environment and they won't mind at all. It does help if you have a wet spring or water available so they don't dry out. I've also found, however, that plants with obvious tasty parts may suffer in a new spot as the local diners discover them so you might want to protect them the first year or so.
