My guess is, It is not too late to start new tomato plants, Planting season isn't normally until the second week of May! even though if feels much sooner since were having an early Spring!

My folks used to start toms from seed outside in late May so, no, it's not too late.

I just started some last week (Gardeners Delight) using the coffee filter method, I have never sown seeds this way before and was amazed at how quickly they germinated. Only yesterday I potted them into their own little pots.

I accidentally left mine outside during the rain 2 days ago and now at least one has damped off. Hopefully time out in the sun & wind today will save the rest.

The kitties though are such a trial. They love eating my mom's miniature rose blossoms and they seem to have a fondness for the squash seed leaves.
