The rhubarb I have was growing at my MIL's first house when they bought it 40 yrs ago.

My neighbor has a rhubarb patch that is extimated at 70-75 yrs old.

Mine is not the really red stuff, its has more green than red. Nice Tart flavor.

Yes,the Rhubarb that I have is the greener tart kind also.I live in an old farm house built around 1910-1915.I moved it from it's original spot 3 years ago but I missed some of the roots,now I have 2 patch's of rhubarb.
The people I bought my place from gave me a history lesson on the property.The original house sat in the middle of 80 acres and was moved to it's present location when electric lines and roads were built.The timberframe barn was moved also,that still stands to this day.You can still see the original house site marked by a big old lilac bush along a stone fence.If I could only go back in time to see what it looked like,I can only imagine.

My house was built in 1875. When we moved there 6 years ago, I dug some rhubarb out from a scraggly patch near a tree line and planted it in a new raised bed with lots of horse manure. I get HUGE stalks every year, mostly green with red ends. Great big seed stalks every year as well, which I cut out. Could be 100 years old. Who knows?
