I used to pick asparagus that had seeded itself along fence lines all along the road when I lived in the country.
Eventually, I did dig up a clump and dug it into a half-hearted compost heap, and forgot about it. The next Spring
there it was, large and prolific. No doubt that it spread to the fence lines by seed, but it sure did well by digging up the roots. Incidentally, they were growing amid
a jungle of wild grasses, and I dug them in the early fall
after heavy rainfall. I only pulled out the crab grass,
otherwise left the clump alone. I also took all the orange
berries and planted them too.

Would love to go back and see that patch in the new owners
yard. Pondy

Someone dug up some of my asparagus along our ditch and I WASN'T very happy.

I know it was on the right of way but I still felt it was mine.
