Not necessarily. When I put pots out in the garden I put them on a stepping stone or one of those carpet saver dishes so the roots can't escape to the ground. Some plants bloom better when a little pot bound, so it is not always a bad thing.

It's probably not a big deal, but it wouldn't hurt to give them more space.
