I don't know about the other writers, but up here, the ice and snow have been blown away by a "pineapple express" straight from Hawaii and, as always, the gale-force winds stimulate my creativity and the words are flowing -- nay, they are gushing. Best of all, after two decades of being detracted by bread-and-butter writing projects I am finally free to write the garden book I've been looking forward to -- and I am very happy with what I have written so far.

Well for me it was to write more and network more and find more garden writers to network with. One of those New Yr thingies.
Perhaps the weather helped alittle though and being snowbound for 4days - well one needs something to do!
Articles need to be written with spring just round the corner, and joining with other folk doing the same thing seems logical.

So John, good to see you're writing up a storm. At least right now it is a warm one. Keep up the good work.

Good luck with the book - its great to be able to do a project that you have wanted to do for a while. I came into this business backwards - after growing and selling and giving talks on herbs for 8yrs, I started writing about them (and other garden stuff). That was under 18mths ago and I have a book contract already. I probably should have more experience in the writing side to do a really good job on it, but it is fun - its a very long term thing though compared to doing article for the press - due on Friday by noon.

If you have fun writing, it will be a good book, because it will be an honest one. Good luck! I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it.

I guess it worked for a while because for once we actually had writers talking to each others instead of aggressive dilettantes butting and insulting professional writers. But alas.
