Garden Writer's Meeting - September

A note to all you newbies, lurkers and aspiring garden writers... not to mention you established folks who have yet to join GWAA. The annual conference is coming up Â this year to be held on Long Island, September 10 - 13.

The Garden Writer's Association of America holds an annual meeting once a year, and over a four day period there are talks, meetings and garden tours. At the trade show you'll find information about products (the new and the tried and true) and plants (ditto) Â story ideas and garden information galore.

All very inspiring Â a great place for beginners to question established garden communicators and photographers, not to mention have a good time.

WOW!!
I am an avid amateur gardener and a longtime newspaper/ magazine writer who went freelance from full-time in April. (What a great month to have time on your hands!!)
Along with my usual stuff, I've been trying to persuade a certain editor to let me write a garden column. Can someone tell me -- is there really a Garden Writer's group? Is it national? etc?
