Killing time in a book store I came across several very inexpensive small books on gardening.

I bought two 'Small Gardens' David Squire and

'Foliage color' The New Plant Library Bryan Greenwood

Cheaper than a good garden magazine,lots of pretty pictures and no ads to wade through.I don't know how any money was made by the store let alone the authors.

Cheap books,paperbacks (Weeds of North America...What's Doing the Blooming Upper Great Lakes...Wildflowers of North America...etc...) used books on amazon (Lasagna Gardening) and hints for Christmas are how I acquire most garden related material. The best stuff I read comes from the online library where I have been able to find almost every substantial piece of writing out there.

It is sent to our local for pick-up. But it must be returned. This has on occasion been the reason behind a purchase. 'Making More Plants' The Science,Art And Joy Of Propagation' Ken Druse being an example.

Funds are limited but books on gardening and all aspects of the living outdoors are a joy. I would start an exchange if it looked feasible. Will people give up a book that is good enough for an exchange? I would not unless the weight limit at the condo had been exceeded.

Books for pleasure and education.... may there always be more.
