My tom plants are looking tired as well but my marvel striped has about 40 toms on top 3 ft of plant so I don't think ill be out of tomatoes anytime soon

If u could chose 1 heart what would it be? I obly have room for 1 next year.

Damon, I'm surprised Danko didn't rate higher. Well, I should say disappointed not surprised. I was hoping a semi-determinate heart got high praise, because I suspect it has the best chance of working for me.

Also, I am down to 17 plants from 60 and a couple of them are about to be removed this weekend. For me it looks like Champion and Red Beefsteak Heirloom (so named by Bonnie) are going to set a lot of fruit for Fall. I just don't know if they will blush in time.

My two Sungolds mysteriously defoliated this week. Just like that. Wierd. It was 110 here today and will be the same all weekend.

You want to grow my Bobbie heart seed next year, right? :winkwink:

Bob- Danko did not get a fair shake this year because I grew it in a pot with a funky soil. So I will be giving Danko a second go next year in the ground. I would love to try Bobbie heart next year if ya wanna spare some seeds. wink wink

mojavebob, I wonder if your sungolds got eaten by hormworms. completely defoliated. sounds like it.

as an aside, I planted basil in and around my tomato garden this year and didn't have one single sighting of hornworm. myth? maybe, but worth repeating.
