Here it comes folks! This is an automated email alert that I receive.

Special Weather Statement

The extended period of very mild weather will come to an end this

Wednesday as a strong cold front moves across the state. As we start

the week... temperatures will remain as they have been for the past

several days with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s and

nighttime lows in the mid 50s to mid 60s.

On Wednesday... the cold front is expected to enter the northwest

counties of North Texas during the morning and pass through

the southeastern counties in the evening. Once the front passes... it

will turn very windy and temperatures will drop drastically.

Thanksgiving day will start out cold and breezy with wind chill

readings in the mid 20s north and west of the metroplex. By

Thanksgiving afternoon... high temperatures will struggle to reach the

mid 50s... with much of North Texas topping out only in the upper 40s

and lower 50s.

This cold weather regime will extend through the remainder of the

Holiday weekend... and may result in a freeze Friday and Saturday

mornings west of a Goldthwaite... Granbury... Decatur... Sherman line.

Also... a cold rain should begin over West Texas Friday and

slowly spread over North Texas through Sunday.

North Texas residents are urge to monitor local radio... TV... NOAA

Weather Radio or internet weather pages for additional information

Thanks for that update. We're getting ready to rent a steam cleaner to clean our carpets upstairs, so we plan on doing that tomorrow while we can still leave the windows open to let the carpets dry! ;-) It is definitely time to get out those sweaters and leave them out!

We'll probably water the landscape today or tomorrow too since it will help insulate the roots of my plants from any freezing weather.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't realize we were supposed to be that close to freezing.

Rock, I already brought in my hibiscuses! Hibisci? I'm so pleased with myself for beating the frost, and getting to do so in the mid-afternoon while fully dressed!

Thank you for the forecast, I will water today so my plants will be protected.
With the wind and lack of rain I've had to water more. Doesn't help that I'm babying new plants with a few transplants.

I still have a couple of plants I have to bring in, might as well do it today before I forget LOL.

Time to bring in the tropicals and erect my ghetto greenhouse ;-)

I Hate the cold! I am almost finished putting all of my potted plants into the new little greenhouse that DH bought and built for me. He is such a sweetheart!

    Here's today's update......Brrrr!

... Dramatic weather changes are in store...

A strong cold front will move through North Texas today and put an
end to the extended period of unseasonably warm weather. Behind the
front... northerly winds will increase to around 20 mph... with gusts
up to 30 mph possible. Temperatures will fall into the 50s by this
afternoon... with high temperatures today across much of North Texas
    occurring in the morning hours.

Temperatures tonight will fall into the 30s across all of North
Texas... with locations along and to the northwest of a Comanche... to
Weatherford... to Sherman line falling to 32 degrees or less. This
will be the first freeze for this area and a freeze warning for
northwestern parts of North Texas will likely be issued later today.

Thanksgiving day will be cold and breezy with wind chill readings in
the 20s and 30s. High temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s across
all of North Texas... with increasing clouds ahead of an upper level
disturbance. This upper level disturbance will cause light rain to
break out Thursday evening... with the atmosphere cold enough for
some light snow or sleet to mix in after midnight. Surface
temperatures are expected to remain above freezing across North
Texas... and therefore no accumulations are expected.

A strong upper level storm system is expected to cross over the
region this weekend and result in good chances of rain.
Temperatures will be in the 30s and 40s... and there is some
possibility of wintry precipitation across North Texas on Sunday
before the event comes to an end.

North Texas residents... especially those traveling to locations in
West Texas where significant wintry precipitation is expected... are
urged to monitor local radio... TV... NOAA Weather Radio... or
weather.Gov for additional information and refined forecasts.

Hope none of ya'll are having to drive in any of the messy stuff.

    Happy Thanksgiving

Carol, the link opened but the show never loaded! I am going to try again later, because I know it will be good! I would love to be in Hawaii right now! BTW, my brother and Dad have called me "Brat" all of my life. I wonder why? LOL

The greenhouse came from Harbor freight. It is the little 6x8. The last greenhouse DH built for me was huge compared to this one, but the new yard is tiny! The HF greenhouse was on sale foe $299 and I used a 15%off coupon on top of that. I had to run to Walmart this morning to buy a heater for it. It is already COLD and windy here!

P.S. Not only is DH a good greenhouse builder, but he is a hunk, too! I am one lucky lady!

What a handsome couple you are. You're both very lucky to have each other.

I mentioned to my DH that a friend on GW has a greenhouse and her DH built it for her and he said we'll probably get one. I guess he's a keeper. lol

I tried the link and it worked for me. Maybe I have to be signed in for it to work.

OMG Necia!!! You stole my hair...but WHY?????? LOL!
Carolann's right you are a handsome couple.
Carolann, You had better luck than I did.
I hinted at my DH for a greenhouse. I have to wait until he's outta school(pout).PJ

PJ, move by me and we'll share a greenhouse.

LOL, PJ! I doubt that your's has as much grey in it as mine does! And, the older I get, the funkier my curls get. It is so weird!

My DH will be taking courses for his Masters beginning in January, so I guess that it is a good thing that I got mine when I did!

You two could split the Harbor Freight 10x12 greenhouse! =)

BTW, If anyone needs a Harbor Freight coupon, I have two of the 15% off ones!
