some share our dwelling ...!

We have always let some creepy, crawly critters live in peace in our house: we notice when we have a 'daddy long legs' in the bathroom we usually don't see any other critters around. Son had a jumping spider in his bathroom when he was young & it would actually come out & let him hold it in his hand when it saw my son (really!!) & it lived there for quite awhile harmlessly so not all critters in the home are bad (Oh, I do have a posting on another forum about those darn sugar ants ... no, they are NOT welcome any time & serve no purpose in the house! That includes scorpions, vinagerones, centipedes here in N.M!)

I agree that some critters in the home are welcome just not all. I really hate it when giant crab spiders decide to move into the house because it never fails that they end up in my bathroom! While I'm not usually bothered by spiders having one as big as my hand try to get into the shower with me is enough to make me scream and run! LOL By the way, my brother, who lives with me, layed in his bed and laughed as he listened to me screaming and trying to get rid of the spider which by that time had moved to the ceiling of the bathroom. I ended up having to get him to kill the spider for me.

Now that I've made myself out to seem like a complete wuss, I have to say I've no problem with having daddy long legs or jumping spiders in the house. My favorite spiders are jumping spiders, I love how they will sit there and inspect you! In fact, my dad was teaching me to handle lizards, frogs, snakes, and insects by the time I could walk.

Other insects I hate to find in the house include cockroaches, palmetto bugs (those send me running everytime I see them, whether it's inside the house or outside!), centipedes, scorpions, and those giant carpentor or bull ants.

I'd like to have geckos in the house as natural insect control but the one time I did have them move in one of my cats was quick to try and catch it. It was a mad scramble between me and the cat to see who was going to catch the poor thing first. Lucky for the gecko I managed to scoop it up before the cat was able to give it more then a minor scratch. The gecko now happily lives outside far away from the my cats.

Here's a link to the type of siper I find in my bathroon and bedroom (and only there!) every so often. These things can have an inch long body with a 5 inch leg span.

Note that in the last photo of the set, that is a 4" wide siding panel the spider is clinging to.

Same here, it seems we have so many insect borders, We just joke about it, how about charging these for board and lodging.....lol...... I cleaned all the unnecessary things inside the house like defective electric fans, dvd player, news papers, directories, magazine and other stuff too.
