A while back, I found some larva eating on a passionflower vine. Thinking it could be a butterfly or moth caterpillar, I brought a few in to try to raise them, so I could find out what it was. Well, I still don't know. It gets to about 3/8 inch, a creamy light orange color, has these bumps all over the body, black head and 6 black legs in the front. Sometimes it crawls along by doubling up the back half of its body. Was pretty active, crawled all over when not eating the passiflora. They finally stopped growing (never did grow much) or eating and were staying underneath the paper towels in the container all the time, not moving much. So I've put potting soil in the container, thinking they might need to be in soil to pupate. Today, I found another one (I think, kind of tiny now) on a piece of Passiflora foetida vine in another cage with the Gulf Fritillary caterpillars I'm raising. Any ideas at all? I've had passiflora vines for quite a few years and have never seen these before.
