Hi, I was visiting down in So. Calif. enjoying my Son's garden when I noticed a morning cloak butterfly flitting from here to there. A sparrow landed on the fence & was just hanging out when the butterfly took off over to the bird & seemed to attack it! It kept flying at the bird, (kinda like when you get too close to a mocking bird's nest, that's what it reminded me of) till the bird flew up to the telephone wire. The butterfly went up & kept flying at the bird till it flew away. The butterfly came back & resumed it's garden flitting till another sparrow came around & the butterfly did the same thing to it! I was amazed. When did butterflies start attacking other creatures? Peg
