Keep your eyes open for an insect fair in your community. Your local university and/or natural history museum are likely hosts for such events. Also most "herp" shows have some vendors who sell spiders and other inverts, such as the millipedes and roaches.

In addition, doing a google search for something like "captive bred invertebates" will help you find some dealers.

well, i found the breeding pair of giant millipedes that i wanted. 10-11 inches of creepy crawley goodness.

this is a pic of the "boy" and the girl looks almost identical. no trick photography here, it really extends from my wrist to my iner elbow. and i'm 6'2" to give you an idea of forearm length. the bodies are about the daimeter of a nickle and they weigh a lot for their size (very dense i guess)

cool pets, i highly recomend them as an alternative to gold fish or hermit crabs. they are quiet, clean, and great fun to watch and hold.

Wow, that's a whole lot of millipede! Where did you end up finding them?

a local "specialty" pet store ordered them for me. no idea who they ordered from?

by specialty, they specalize in snakes, lizards, amphibians, fish, and other non-cats/dogs type stuff.
