I'm not clear on why window trim is a problem but whatever you do on one window, you should do on the others in that room (not the whole house) unless you can cover it with draperies, etc. Post a picture?

Is is just that the king sized bed would overlap on some of the window trim? I don't see that as a reason to take the trim off. Though the situation certainly isn't ideal, I'd just pull the bed forward an inch or two and let it overlap, or get the queen size if it bothers you.

You could also put a sofa table behind the head of the bed, which could hold lamps, reading material, stuff like that.

tscah, don't worry about the window trim at all. Go with a king if that's what you want. The headboard won't sit flush against the wall but once you've got it in there with bedding and furniture, you won't notice it.

I agree, I do not see an issue with the King size bed on this wall..Hang a really nice piece of art in the center of the windows as a focal point above the bed and the window issue will fade away..Window coverings in something neutral and bedside tables with lamps will finish it off..

Centre the King size between the windown. The window trim is not deep, and I think once in place you won't see it as an issue.
