We already owned a set of Chantal enamel on steel pans that work nicely on the Sunpentown.

Use a magnet to test the bottom of any pan you are considering using; if it sticks strongly, then the pan should work. An aluminum disk bottom probably won't work.

Places to try: Sams, Costco, restaurant supply, camping supply, Tuesday Morning.

Yes, by all means head for the Salvation Army store- or weekend tag sales. Good old cast iron skillets will work well.

I drove around for a couple of months with a magnet in my purse to test pots. Caveat- keep away from credit cards!

Good luck- you will enjoy induction!

Demeyere pans are expensive but work very well on induction.
Their finish is unmatched and they are not uncomfortably heavy.

Good Luck.

Pop down to IKEA in Stoughton: they have a bunch of cheap pans that work on induction.

JA Henckels makes a line of good quiality, moderately priced cookware that is induction friendly. IMO they have the most ergonomic handles that I have experianced

I found good pots/pans at TJMax, less than $30 each.

I too carry a magnet with me to test bottom of pans. Choose pans with a strong pull.

Pans will work on other types of cook top too, sooo....any pans you pick up for the hob will not be wasted money.

We've gotten good pots and pans at both IKEA (the 365 cookware) and HomeGoods. Don't forget Lodge Cast iron pans - inexpensive but lasts forever.
