I am also growing GZ, for the first time. The fruit size is about 3 to 4 oz.

Fruit size may vary, depending on the growing conditions , to some extent. But even then majority should fall into its genetic size.

I have the same experience as Bart this year. I remember they were a little larger in previous years. Mine are about ping pong ball size, but reasonably round. Maybe it has something to do with the weather???

Bart: I am in Montgomery County Maryland, so I'm not too far from you. It seems like everyone up here, from gardeners to farmers, has been c&o plaining about tomatoes this year. The fruits are small and so are the yields.

I'm also growing green zebras this year. I think most of mine have been round and bigger than a ping pong ball, but not as large as a tangerine. I'm also getting low numbers of fruits. What I am getting, however, is delicious and I usually end up eating it as soon as I pick it, before it can even get it inside. :)

If I don't end up moving, I may grow the same varieties next year as sort of a do-over so that I don't think of them as bad plants just because of how poorly the year has gone!

Bart, if you bought the seeds for GZ they should be small in the 2-3 oz range.

But as noted below seeds were sold by Tomato Growers Supply for what they called Big Zebra, as noted in the link below, with pictures.

From the link you can see that both TGS and Diane's Flowers are offering seeds for 2014 when you click on seed availability.

From looking at some of the google images, I see most shots are the round, "ping pong ball" shaped ones that I got this year, but there were a few shots of the more squat shaped ones too.

I hope it was because of the weather this year!!!!

I know this thread is old, but— I'm not sure if they're strains, quite, but you might check out Orange and Green Zebra, Girl Girl's Weird Thing (it's a sport of Green Zebra), Big Zebra, Red Zebra, and Black Zebra.
