It is about time. This is a story long known but not reported in mainstream media. Official corruption has been rampant and has supported not only deforestation but also destruction of indigenous peoples and communities. International public protestings seem not to have much effect. The current crackdown must have been prompted by the shear size of the illegal deforestation and movement of products out of the region. Amazing to me is the arrest warrants for fewer than 100 people.
