USA sometimes gets what the Ausi market does , but it's not as cut and dried as it shows up there and then rolls out here in 2 years. You will only be frustrated if you wait on it.

Why the fretting over the Thermador? They don't make it.

I was at the Miele Factory store 3 weeks ago to see the 36" Induction and asked about the UK versions coming to the US, was told no plans. Might be standard answer about future products. I just wanted no SS around perimeter.

One thing I like in the Miele configuration is the elements are farther apart allowing larger pans.

I felt the same about Gaggenau. I wanted a size that's more popular abroad. My insurance company had no problem with me getting a European unit, and neither did the electrician. The local Gaggenau service man conferred with the electrician and they both think it'll be fine. The timers won't keep clock time because they use the phase of the electricity to measure time and Euro is different, but the service guy said they'd still work. I'd just have to make a conversion chart.

So I found someone in England who would send one to me and can't wait for it to be installed.

It turned out to be cost effective too.

The deal is that every model they bring into the U.S. has to have a separate UL rating and that's really expensive, but the European standards are just as good if not stricter, which is why the insurance company didn't mind. That, and it's being installed by a highly qualified electrician.

Anyway, if you want it enough, you could try importing it yourself.
