I'm renovating a small house with a smaller kitchen. I think I'm going to get a 24" Blue Star rangetop. I want a Prestige hood but they don't make them that small and a 30" hood wouldn't work. The rangetop has to be hard against a side wall so the hood would be off center. Prestige makes a 24" hood with shelf that looks interesting. Does anybody have one?

I have another question that I may post on the kitchen forum but I'll mention it here. The side wall will only project a few inches beyond the front of the rangetop. It will have to be fireproof but the thought fo tile so close to the grease sounds like lots of work to keep the groat clean. Can I put a stainless steel sheet over the wall and if so where do you get one? Would that satisfy the building code?
