Fasciation is spelled just fine but I sure hope you meant to say it's thought to be a physiological condition, not a psychological one. ( smile)

Although I sometimes feel that different tomato varieties have different psyches based on how they perform for me, I "think" I know that they don't.( wink)

Carolyn, who simply cannot remember the name of the variety that when grown by her almost always has a fasciated main stem so there must be a genetic factor at work as well. And actually a Google search does confirm the genetics of tomato stem fasciation as one cause for that phenomenon. other causes have been suggested as well.

Thanks for the info..i thought i had a miracle tomato eh oh well...But aww man the bloody wind snapped the main stem off one of the other stem.Which means it is now only a single stem plant will it survive?

While this is up, I just want to say that fasciation in tomatoes isn't rare in my experience, especially in 2017. Some people think it's a peculiarity of heirlooms, although I don't see any reason why that would be the case. It doesn't seem like something people would want to eliminate to me (but I guess it is in some other people's minds). I tend to see it most in large-fruited or vigorous indeterminates, and it seems to happen at least as often as extra large dandylion-like flowers do—usually in the same plants.
