Electrolux Range Cleaning

Question from Becky Sisler: "I read your comments on the Electrolux. I assume you are pleased with the power and performance of the range and oven. A strange concern I have relates to the cleanability. My current range/oven work fine but I can't clean the range. The grates and area beneath them are black with charred liquids. I have resorted to hiding it all under tiles when the range is not in use. I spoke with the Electrolux rep last week, she assured me that I could clean the stainless steel drip area and grates. I cook everyday and my ranges gets heavy use. Will you expand further on the cleaning of your range? (I do not want to go to electric cook top). Thanks very much for your input. b"

Hello Becky,

I have received several emails like yours. So I thought I post it here.

The range is very easy to clean. We cook 2-3 meals a day. We clean only once a week. It takes no more than 15 minutes. The entire top surface of the range is stainless steel and is recessed about an inch from the rim. Burners are all sealed. Whatever is spilled during cooking is on the stainless steel surface. Spill is not going to overflow or go inside the burner unless the spill is in gallons. Because it is stainless steel surface, you can use a kitchen scrubber to scrub off anything that falls including burnt food. I use a Home Depot grease cleaner spray. I also used fume-less oven spray. Both work well. Just let it soak five minutes and then use paper towel to clean and dry.

Grates are no problem at all and needs no cleaning. If needed soap and water or dishwasher will do. Cleaning-wise, it is probably the easiest range we ever used.
