Also has anyone tried Yellow Brandywine, Platfoot Strain before?

Would you recommend it?

I want to have a narrow list of two, maybe three varieties...all slicing types...this year...taste is the primary concern.

Brandywine suddiths are already on the list. Everything else is up for discussion.

Big green would be Green Giant or Cherokee Green

In my garden...

Cherokee purple is slightly larger, does not have the earthy flavor of the Russian Blacks like Paul Robeson. PR has the most intense earthy flavor I have found, followed by Black Krim.

CP produces most of the fruit early in the season, and PR usually does better late in the season here.

Try Absinthe for a large green. Just awesome flavor.

I grew Brandywine Yellow/PS this year. It didn't produce a single fruit until late September (was set out in the first week of May), but we had an unusually hot and dry summer. Perhaps they'll produce better in your greenhouse.

We ended up with 7-8 tomatoes. My wife really liked them because they aren't particularly sweet. I'll grow them again sometime down the road (too many other varieties to try first!).

I'll second the recommendation for Green Giant.

Cherokee Purple was good here and produced early and long. Paul Robeson produced later and longer. Black Prince had huge tomatoes even early on.

Two tomatoes we really enjoyed were Aunt Ruby's German Green and Kellogg's Breakfast.

We lost Black from Tula and Black Krim to early blight but plan to grow again in 2011.
