kitchen redo

Hi I'm looking for the most recommended kitchen appliances. As far a a range a 48" with a grill is what I'm leaning towards. A refrigerator/freezer with extra large capacity in a standard 36" model. A dishwasher that is quiet, ease of use and large enough for a family who hates to wash any dishes. I want something energy efficient and reasonable in cost. I don't know which manufactures to go with. I'd love to hear everyones opinions. Thanks for the help!

"I want something energy efficient and reasonable in cost."

I think you need to provide a range for each appliances e.g. range $5K-$8K!

before someone can recommend or suggest appliances. What is reasonable in cost to one is total unreasonable to another.

Thanks, as you can see I'm new to this. Yes, the $5K- $8K would probably cover most of what I've been seeing. I really enjoy cooking and baking. I want a stove that looks good, works well and has a good record with consumers. Salespeople push the items they get the most commission on. So I'm having a difficult time as to which product really is best. I have been offered a used wolf ( display model used 8 times) at a discount. I could get another stove for the price, new. The discount is about $1000 off the original price with a 2 year warranty. Does that sound like a decent deal?

Welcome to the forum. What is your total budget for all appliances? Hood, Dishwasher, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Range and anything else you may want? Based on the price, you will get the appropriate recommendations.

    Good luck!

Check out BlueStar ranges. Great cooking features for anyone who loves to cook. Very basic. Less expensive than the Wolf. Good reliability means no electronics mounted next to the oven box! The heat of cooking, and especially the self cleaning cycle, literally destroys the microelectonics in today's ranges. That's why some people are paying hundreds of dollars a year to have the same circuit board replaced on their ranges every six months. Dishwasher? With a house full of people who hate washing dishes how about two dishwashers: one configured for tableware and one for food prep.! We had that at our last house and it's a huge timesaver. Plus, dishwashers aren't much more expensive than the cabinets you'd buy for the same space. The basic Bosch dishwashers are excellent choices. Refrigerator? A full size refrigerator is sized for a family, plus there are lots of new model problems still with all the counter depth designs, and not enough space inside. All a refrigerator needs to do is to keep food at the right temperature, but many counter-depth french door models can't even do that yet.

Thanks for welcoming me and trying to help me out. I figure spending somewhere around $15k for the appliances. Less is always better and if there is something worth the extra cost, I wouldn't walk away. Thank you for pointing out the electronic component blowing out, useful information. Something I will keep an eye out on. I'll check out the Blue Star ranges and the Bosch dishwashers!
