Most any of the stoves with digital controls on the front are going to have some occasional fan noise to cool the electronics. Whether it is bothersome depends upon a number of factors, including kitchen acoustics and the operational condition of the stove, and how sensitive the listener is to certain frequencies. I too was curious about the GE fans, and I was told by an appliance repair tech that the only complaints he has had was when the fan was indeed faulty. The normal operating condition of the GE product is relatively quiet.

While I can't speak for the Bosch, I can speak for the GE Cafe which, though cosmetically different, it is similar in design to the GE Profile, and the fan isn't very noisy at all. In fact I've only heard it during broiling.

I've got the Bosch Integra dual fuel and have been using it for the past month. While you can the hear the fan when the oven is on I do not find it to be objectionable and I would say that I have pretty sensitive hearing. My kitchen is self contained, but I think even in an open kitchen it wouldn't seem that loud. The fan will continue to run as the oven cools down even when it is turned off ( the control panel reads "hot") but again I haven't found it to be annoying. If you are particularly sensitive it might be a problem. I have found it to be an excellent value, a great looking, well performing range and I love having both a gas cooktop and electric oven.
