Help deciding on vanity mirror

Hello! I'm installing a new vanity and mirror. My bathroom currently has linen white beadboard wainscotting that I'm keeping. It goes up to about 4ft. Vanity is 48" medium brown stain with beige granite top. I'll have one 3-light fixture in chrome above mirror. How big of a mirror should I get? Should I have it come down over the wainscotting or install above? It looks a little high to have it above, but that is the easiest. Also, what kind of mirror should I get? I couldn't find one in store that matches the vanity exactly. I found a framed silver gilded type mirror, a tortoise pattern framed mirror, and just a polished edge mirror..all big...42"+ in width. Suggestions?

If you like the look, you could get one of those mirrors that stands out from the wall on pivots. I believe I have seen them hung overlapping wainscotting as you describe... Yup, I linked the thread below where there is a photo.
They sell the mirrors at Restoration Hardware, among other places.
