Does an intense spray handheld shower exist?

Wanted: a reliable hand held shower head with intense hard spray (as good as our old Speakman fixed shower.) We are not rain shower people.

Your recommendations, please.

Logic: our shower could accommodate a stationary and a handheld shower (handheld would be used almost exclusively for wall cleaning and unforeseen health issues). But why put in two shower heads if one will do?

My new master shower will be 40 inches wide and almost 72 inches long, three full tiled walls and one 72 inch pony wall with glass above. Shower head will be on one 40 inch wall. Hate to clutter the wall with two shower heads, hose, sliding bar, and two controls. GC says we could use opposite 40 inch wall to mount the second shower head if we wanted. I'd prefer to find a handheld with outstanding intense spray as my only shower. Is this possible?

You have to take out the flow restrictor. We have grohe relexa and I find the spray painful on the setting my husband likes. I use it between the needle type spray and the champagne and get a mix of the two.

Mine is a Grohe and I leave it at Massage which is plenty powerful for me. The Jet is too strong for me, but you may like it.

Thanks tobler and dedtired. . . this shower research has me so frustrated. I can't seem to make it all come together. I appreciate your bearing with me.

I think I have learned enough today to feel comfortable with getting a Grohe handheld on a sliding bar with thermostatic control as my only shower in the master bath renovation, but it seems like buying on-line means buying a la carte. I hate to pay plumbing supply store prices, but figuring out which shower goes with which controls and all the rest is about beyond me.

Can you tell me exactly what model name you own, exactly what valve, hose, etc. you have, when you purchased it, and if you got it on-line? Since the handheld will be my only shower, I don't need a diverter.

If once installed, the worst happens and we dislike the shower head; can it be replaced different head/brand?

Tile shopping is definitely more fun!

you can change out the shower head with any head you like, or you can probably get one without the shower head and get a speakman. You might look at hansgrohe, they are cheaper than grohe We got all our fixtures at a local plumbing store, but they were around 38% off retail with our contractors discount. You might check the link below to see if you can save some money on some of the parts. As far as what you need, I don't want to try to tell you and end up giving you bad information. We had to get a diverter because we have a fixed head and the handheld, but you might go to a local plumbing supply store and have them go over that with you- they were a great help to us

I am also curious about this. We have already purchased, but not yet installed, a Kohler handheld mounted on a slidebar. I saw no reason to do an additional fixed shower head.

I did ask the plumber to remove whatever flow restrictor is installed. I'd like to save water, but if it takes me twice as long to rinse out my hair products (long hair) I figure it is a "wash" (haha) for the water usage.
