Air Tubs

I am looking for an oval, 60" air tub. Does anyone have experience with Jacuzzi Gallery or Pearl Bath air tubs?

Thanks.

The Jacuzzi Gallery air tub has 60+ air holes, the AquaGlass tub has 16. Is more better?

You may want to look at the Neptune series of heated blower air tubs (activ-air models). We have had a 72in oval Zen for 3.5 years and it has been flawless! With their setup, the blower comes on for 60 seconds (10-15 minutes after shutoff) to purge any residual water that may have seeped into the air jet holes.

Their oval series is now the Tao. The first number in the model is the width and the second number is the length.
    Not cheap, though.

Here is a link that might be useful: Neptune TAO 3260

Just want to add a comment that if anyone is looking at the Neptune Activ Air tubs to watch out. They do not have valves on the jets, despite advertising such, that prevent water from flowing back into the system. As a result mold grows in the pipes and comes out into your bath water whenever you turn your "therapeutic" jets on. In addition, leaning back against the jets causes your back to act as a thumb would over a hose and water shoots up into your hair, onto the walls and floor

My Bain Ultra air tub also has a setting that blows out any residual water that might have seeped into the air holes. It's important to manually run this feature even if you don't use the air jets.

Good to know. So even if you just have a bath, once the water is drained, you turn the air jets on and off to get the blower running for a few mins? We have a Neptune Wind with air jets waiting to be installed. I don't think we were ever told the jets all have valves. That would be too intricate and too much to go wrong. But we were told that the blower stays on for a few mins after you turn it off. I just hadn't thought of having a bath without the air jets.

l got a very prompt response from Neptune about the mould in the lines and air causing water to shoot out and up. Here is the response:

    The active-air
jets do not have a check valve so some water will enter the jets and tubing.
However, the jets/tubing are installed at an angle so that the water drains out
after use. Furthermore, a drying cycle activates 20 minutes after use to clean
and dry all conduits. If the tub will be used as a shower, we recommend the air
system be briefly activated after each shower use to ensure the drying cycle is
initiated and the tubing stays dry/clean.

    We have had
some complaints about excessive splashing but this depends on the tub shape/form
and we’ve never had such a complaint with the Wind model.

We're having the Wind model installed which is why they referred to that one in the response.

As I said in the other thread, ours is the Neptune Revelation model and we definitely have a problem. I just wanted others to be aware. Neptune has sent out technicians twice and they can't figure out how to fix it. Very disappointing as our tubing seems to now be contaminated with mold and who wants to share a bath with mold?

I am pleased though to hear that they possibly corrected the problem by angling the jets, although if the tubing is not angled, water can accumulate in the dips which is possibly what happened to ours.

I hope you find a solution and I hope ours works OK.
