I did some research on Crosley appliances while making some Craig's List purchases last year. I have attached a link to an article that might help. Here is a relevant excerpt "The company buys appliances from Maytag, Whirlpool and Electrolux and sells them through rent-to-own stores and True Value hardware stores, many of which double as Crosley distributors. Among Crosley's offerings are washers, dryers, ranges, microwaves and, of course, Shelvador refrigerators."

I know this is an old post, but I'm considering a Crosley as well. I haven't heard of it before now. Did you purchase? What do you think?

The Crosley brand name dates back many years (far as the 1930s). It was known back in the day for refrigerators (Crosley Shelvador -- shelves in the door), and radios and TVs.

We bought a Crosley gas stove, top of the line. It has been a huge disappointment. I wanted to support an American made company and invested in this. The insolation is poor at best. The whole kitchen heats up and you can feel it coming out of the oven, especially around the broiler. We have used it an average amount for exactly 3 years and the entire brain went out so there was no oven. It took 2 weeks to get the part in which means we were able to light the stove top with a match but no oven or controls/clock/etc due to the sensor being out. Read the reviews and buy a better quality for the price.

I am a Crosley owner of a double door fridge and a dishwasher. Paid a high price for both appliances and I hate both appliances with a passion. Purchase about 5 years ago fridge was not even 2 years old and the problems started. The freezer now ices up and we have to totally remove all frozen food items to let it defrost every 3-4 weeks. If we don't ice builds up and top compartment warms up and food spoils. We have been trying to get the right parts for years, all out of stock which tells us that everybody with Crosley appliances is having same trouble. To add insult to injury we find out the appliances were made in Mexico. We have finally received a part that my husband has replaced but you would not believe what a pain in the ARSE it was to remove.

We are crossing our fingers that it will fix the problem. If problem is not fixed, we will be purchasing a new refrigerator and it will not be a Crosley brand because it is JUNK!!

We also purchased a Crosley dishwasher. it was within a year that the mother board went out and now in order to use the dishwasher we had to put duct tape over the control board for it to work.

Do not recommend Crosley brand to anybody.

Crosley dates back nearly 100 years ... known for automobiles, radios and televisions, and appliances.

It's now just a brand-name that has been passed around multiple manufacturers. Frigidaire and GE/Haier may currently be involved depending on the type of appliance. Whirlpool was involved in the past, may still be for refrigerators. Washers & dryers currently shown on Crosley website are GE design.

WP does have a refrigerator plant in Mexico, nothing new about that. My WP-branded SxS bought in July 2024 was made in Mexico, as was a sibling model that a family friend bought in 2015.
