Screen Snowman

I just toured lynninnm's wonderful holiday pics of her home & a friend had made a screen for her. It reminded me of this pic...I made these for my daughters a Christmas or two ago...felt & embroidery on old basement window screens. Just wanted to share ...in case someone is snowed in & need a project! LOL! Jeanne S.

p.s. One daughter sits the snowscreen by her fireplace & the other uses it on her porch.

    Jeanne,

This is adorable. Your daughters are lucky to have such a talented DM. What made you come up with this idea? I loved Lynn's snowman on her screen too.

I'm sure you will have some who will want to make one. Luvs made a snowman on a shutter one year and I copied that and then painted a santa on another. I thought I would make a couple more this last Christmas but time ran out.

Jeanne, that is clever and adorable, how lucky your girls are to have such a talented mom. I'm putting screens on my "look for" list.

Thanks, gals...punk, I saw a similiar pc in a quilt shop & thought I could do that...so I enlarged an applique pattern I had for towels & went from there...kind of country/rustic. Jeanne S.

Very cute! Just so many talented ladies (and Jim) on this forum! I love that we all get to share ideas. Jeanne, I'll bet your DD's loved this gift. I really liked the one Lynn's friend made for her too.

Punk, I don't remember seeing your shutters--did you ever post pics of them? I had a problem with mine--had it sitting at the corner of the covered porch and it got wet when it rained. Not sure why, but parts of the face now have pink splotches. Black plus white shouldn't equal pink--so I'm stumped as to why that happened! LOL Haven't taken time to try to fix it yet.

That's darling, Jeanne! I know that my friend, Di, had her DH make the frame out of old scrap wood he had laying around and she just stapled the screening to the back of it and started painting and adding the fabric, etc. These should be pretty easy to make with all sorts of designs on them. How about for Halloween with a ghost or ????

Jeanne, That's great that you figured out how to make one yourself. That's how I usually come up with different projects I make. Thanks for sharing how you made it.

That's adorable, Jeanne. You always have the neatest stuff inside AND out at your house. Could I borrow some of your talent and imagination? LOL, I didn't get any.
And no wonder, I think it got used up on this Forum gang!

    hugs, Karen
