What a great idea! I collect vintage white table linens, but in the summer bring out the colors. That's a great idea for my small patio tables. I'm already picturing something with flamingos. LOL

Kathleen, you are the Julia Childs of the forum!! Everything you make looks so incredibly perfect....and yummy!! ;o)

Thank you, Patty. The table is 48 in round, but then I can put in the leaf .
I have whites too, many from my mom...but I just loved the crispness of these plaids..
I am not a flamingo gal, though, lol...reminds me of those plastic birds people used to put out years ago..:)

    From bolt to fabulous!
I love the green and white combination.

Kathleen, believe it or not, I didn't think I was either until I came across some outdoor lights. Last summer I hung them on a couple of patio plants, and used coral, aqua, and lime green dishes for a little get together and the lights were a bigger hit than the great salads(I thought!)I put together. ;o)

    PC,
I can just hear the comments about the flamingo lights. Were they string lights? Plastic flamingos are sort of making a tongue-in-check comeback.
I seem to remember a while back there was a post about plastic yard flamingo sets for Halloween.
    I think they're a hoot.

    Kathleen,
I love plaid anything, so I'd be a fan of all your yardage even if it weren't such a bargain. In fact, it's not really a bargain, it's more like a steal.

I like the detail on those white dishes too.

Does a person have to have their own blog to be able to comment directly on your blog?

No, OA, just a google account..and thanks..
The white dishes are the ones half of Blog land has because they had them really cheap at Big Lots. I had mine already..with a coupon from Linen's and Things..
    Gibson..
I am not into plastic yard things..don't like those blow up things that look like dead balloons on the lawn during the day and come to life at night..
Fine on your lawn though! :)

Awww, Kathleen, its not MY fault if YOUR Fattening Fotos make me hungry and whiney.
As for those pink flamingos, hate to tell you but they are making a comeback, LOL. Especially when folks like us Garden Junkers start playing with them.
Meet Sally Ann and the Blues Brothers.

    Kathleen,
I fall into the Anti-Plastic Yard Decorations Group too. (Although I've come to appreciate my neighbors who put those big blow-up thingies out, as my grandchildren LOVE them.)

And ... I've got to admit, the Sally Ann and the Blues Brothers are clever (if, like you said, they reside in someone else's yard). :-)

I guess everything comes back..if you hang onto them long enough, LOL...
But those are just for a joke right?
I wish I saved my Tiara from the Jr Prom.
I could wear it to the supermarket as I hear they are making a comeback..LOL

I NEVER EVER had a tiara, as I couldn't get a date to the Junior Prom to save my life! If they come back into fashion, I'm going to be one of the first to buy one. And I'm wearing it every place I go. HA!

OA, hope you get your tiara. LOL. I never had one either, nor prom dates. Of course being at stables with horses kind of hampered that sort of stuff.

Kathleen, I would never put stuff like that out front,
but silly things out back in my Secret Garden are just to make me smile. Besides the reaction it causes my SIL is priceless! He is a bit horrified as it is over all my stuff. LOL.
By the way, I really loved that pale green plaid material you found. Such a pretty color.
I'm not even going to try to tell you what that Rigatoni Pie did to me tho. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

    hugs, K

I HATE plastic yard ornaments of any kind, and to be honest, most yard ornaments in general. I would consider a fountain, large statue, or a Koi pond, but flowers, trees, bushes, etc. are the best 'yard ornaments' of all.

Olga, they are the little string lights. I even thought of doing a Christmas tree w/them, but didn't have a place for another tree. Guess I should have put them out on the patio plants. ;o)

This post is so funny--everything from fabrics to flamingos! LOL

Love the fabrics you found and what a fantastic price! Are they the extra wide fabric? You know Sandra Lee does that for her tables all the time? I really love the green one, but the others are very pretty also--they will make your dishes look "new" again.

I closed my eyes when I got to the pasta recipe--just started WW! ;o)

    Who is Olga?

Yes, Luvs, they are extra wide.
One time I got an extra wide one there for a dollar a yard that was wide enough and long enough to do my dining room table. I need 70 x 144 there, and usually have to pay a lot for a cloth.
    I was thrilled!
    I used it here...

Beautiful, Kathleen! I love plaids and your Spring-ish ones are so pretty and fresh . . . and what bargain prices! It's good to know that there's good buys out there occasionally with fabric. Love your pink tablecloth and am now going to keep an eye out for some wider fabric for a few new tablecloths for my own 9 1/2' table. Thanks for the ideas!

Kathleen, I could just picture one, lone, little Flamingo in the center of that arrangement. LOL Sorry, it's a beautifully set table, but I just couldn't help myself. ;o)

As long as the pink flamingo doesn't clash...

I could see doing a flamingo theme for someone moving to Fla.!
