Check with Consumer Reports first. Most public libraries have it. We have a top of the line Bosch that we got about 3 years ago and we love it -- best DW we ever had. It washes and dries very well and it is QUIET. Even in our smallish kitchen, I can talk on the phone, read, listen to the radio, whatever while the machine is on.

We love our Bosch - it is our first dishwasher so I cant compare and contrast. It is SUPER quiet. I haven't found the drying to be an issue - I think the key is to really let the dishes stay in the dishwasher a while after the cycle is done - this usually isn't an issue for me since I run the dishwasher before going to bed or in the morning before I leave for work.

The Bosch DWs have a built in in-line hot water heater. The final rinse is very, very hot. That heats the dishes and silverware, which evaporates most of the water. The water then condenses on the stainless steel sides and goes down the drain.

Some plastics will be perfectly dry. A few plastic pieces will have some moisture left, especially around the lips of lids, but no more so than in a conventional DW.

Most of the people who complain about the drying won't follow the instructions, which flat out say not to open the door until the drying cycle is over. Ours takes 1H:57M to run a complete wash/rinse/dry cycle. We don't open the door until the built-in countdown timer says 0:00.
