Simple V'days table

I wasnt sure I should start this post right after all the lovely tables that have been posted here recently! Oh, well. :)

This was totally inspired by Dream's tables with all the lovely pink. And the salad plates I bought at Marshalls a couple of months ago. I really need some crystal looking Salt & Pepper Shakers but I cant find any that I like for a reasonable price. Oops - ignore the kitchen towel in the background.

Details - I happened to have a dusty pink silk fabric that I have not found a use for so I used that to make the placemats. But, I dont think that was a good choice - I am not sure how washer friendly they are. The dinner plates are from LNT after T'giving, the salad plates are from Marshalls. The pink glasses were a gift a long time ago and I have never used them before!! The clear glasses are from the $ store - they only had 6 and I bought them all. :)

I made the napkins - found the design somewhere and I thought it worked reasonably well with the pattern on the dishes.

The glass bowl/dish thing was bought at at garage sale a couple of years ago. The little glass swan figurine was a gift. The floating candles are from Pier-1 - the best part was that they were 70c for the whole pack. Yay!! The two tall candle holders and the tulip designed one are from Goodwill. The glass that the fat candle is sitting on is from Ikea but I have had it for a while now.

I broke the rule of not putting scented candles on the dining table but I kind of like the scent during the rest of the day. And when we have dinner, our food def overpowers the candle's smell. :)

Thanks

Mo

Very pretty, Mo. The salad plates make things look very "Valentiney". You did a really good job of pulling things together. - Gail

Mo, what a fabulous tablesetting! When you're done, can I borrow everything???

I don't even know where to start...yes, I do. That bowl that you have in the center is to die for! It always amazes me what people will put in a garage sale, but that was a great find for you! I'm drooling over the pink roses floating candles. I love the beaded garland around the candles. Love, love, love the plates and I think the placemats and napkins set off the dishes wonderfully.

    I love the whole tablesetting!

Mo, I pretty much LOVE everything. That crystal centerpiece with the floating rose candles is a brilliant idea! And you have pink wine glasses, too? How cool, I like them! The only thing I'm not crazy about (is this ok to say?) are the placemats. I really like them, but think they're not working well with the pink transferware dishes. Perhaps it's just that they're both dominant patterns and they're competing with each other when used together. I'm in awe of you sewing them and those beautiful napkins, though. You're very talented!

mo..What a pretty table setting. YOur centerpiece is beautiful. I love your pink dishes, and lucky you to have pink glasses to go with everything. You scored really well, with those Good Will candle holders..They are very nice. I also like the nice touch of the beaded wreaths on your votives. You did an amazing job on your placemats and napkins.. From 'one sewer to the next' > Bravo !

I love all of candles. They add a touch of warmth to the icy elegance of your centerpiece.
I really, reeeeally NEED those pink glasses for my Valentine table.
The way you pulled all of the colors in with your placemats and napkins is really neat.

Very pretty table, Mo! Your centerpiece turned out very nice with that beautiful bowl and the mirror is just the right size and shape (would love one like that). I really like your salad plates and those pink glasses are lovely - the shape goes so well with the clear ones you got at the Dollar Store. How talented you are to be able to sew up the items you needed to complete your pink look! (I can't sew at all!) Very romantic table, I'll bet it looks even more so with all the candles lit.

Thanks for all the kind words, ladies!

DG, thanks for the inspiration. I would never have thought to do pink until I saw yours and some of the other lovely pink tables.

Lynne, thanks so much for the feedback on the placemats. I really appreciate it! I am going to play a little bit with more solid colors for the placemats.

Thanks Slinkey! :) Sewing and fabric are another addiction altogether!

Betty, I saw some pink glasses at Pier one a couple of weeks ago and they were on sale too!

DD, thanks. The mirror is from Joann - if you get their coupon, you can get these for 4$ each. I was thinking these could even be placemats - maybe.

MO! That is so pretty! Pink glasses, pretty pink plates!
All the lovely candles...you have blossomed!
    Great job..
PS, I have a ton of fabric...always going to make something with it...never do! You have inspired me to get out the machine!

How utterly romantic! It's a lovely table, Mo. Of course, I'm partial to Asiatic Pheasant dinnerware, and love the way you paired it with pretty linens and goblets.

Have a wonderful Valentine's dinner with your honey!

You know, in one sense, it is a simple Valentine's table. On the other hand, it's really quite elegant. Your dinnerware is so pretty. And you notice the dinnerware because the clear glass in the other items lets your eye be drawn to the color.

Don't you just love it when you find a wonderful piece (your centerpiece) for a bargain price?

    Nice job all around.

Thanks Kathleen. Your comment made me smile. :) I am certainly learning.

Bonnie, I like the pattern too - they had dinner plates also when I bought the salad plates but I left them behind because I dont do matching settings anyways. Now, I am kicking myself - I should have bought them too.

OA - thank you!! Getting something at a bargain price just makes it sooo much sweeter! :)
