Simple Valentine Table & Hello Again!

I've been lurking here quite a bit after posting more frequently before Christmas. The holiday season followed by the sudden loss of my dad threw me for a loop, and I'm still not "back to normal." However, I've loved seeing all that you've done throughout the season, and your terrific buys.

I've made a few purchases and have gotten a few gifts, so I hope to put some things together soon.

This was a simple dinner for DH & the boys, so it is not frilly at all. Just basic, but DH thought it was nice because he got one of his favorites - meatloaf with coconut cream pie for dessert. (No pics of food, Sorry!)

Anyway, I discovered I need a few red/pink accents and a white or neutral tablecloth.

    Cindy,
I think your tablescape is very nice. I love the bead-edge chargers and the napkin rings. The heart garland around the candle just gives a hint of Valentines which is nice, considering you're surrounded by men! Curious about the chargers: are they only for Mom and Dad?

Cindy, please accept my sincere condolences to you and your family, on the loss of your Dad.

I had wondered what happened to you. I'm glad to see you're back, and hopefully back to doing lovely table scapes again.
This was a very nice tablesetting.. I'm 'eyeing' that lovely Red Hurricane...and I like how you circled it with the pretty heart garland..nice look. I too like your napkin rings.
Welcome back and I hope we see more of you here.

    Very pretty.
I love the red vase ( vases are a weakness for me..lol), the napkin rings and the salt/pepper shakers.

Thanks, ya'll. I hope to get to play with tablescapes more, but first I need to reorganize my stash so they're easier to get to. Right now I have to go through tubs in the attic to find linens, and sometimes it's not worth it.

I hope to clear out a space in a closet to help in that area.

Hi Cindy, glad you posted your Valentine's table and "chatted" with us a bit. I'm so so sorry for your loss, I know how devastating that can be. I hope lurking here gave you a bit of enjoyment during such a difficult time.

I really like the way you did the garland around the candle holder too--perfect touch for Valentine's, along with red/white which I like anytime. Sometimes when I see blogs where people have red/white kitchens, I wish I could have done that--red is such an energizing color I think.

Hope you will keep joining in here with us even if you are not ready to do tables right now, okay? Take care.

    Magpie,
I'm sorry I overlooked your question. I had gotten a set of 12 of those silver chargers around Christmas for my SIL, but her table only seats 8 -10, so I kept 2. I actually thought I kept 4, but I couldn't find them! So, yes, I just used them at the ends of the table.

    Cindy,
I'm new here...nice to meet you.

So sorry to hear about your Dad...keep the memories alive.
I feel that is one of the most important things about having family meals and making them special...the memories.

I have that same set of Pfaltzgraff 'Heritage'.
I love them...they are so versatile.
