My small Valentines decor.....

Probably should be ashamed to post it... but this is the top of my piano after removing the snow village. A milk glass dish turned upside down with a Christmas candle and candle ring. A metal rose that was a gift from a friend eons ago.. some heart shaped half marbles and my Valentine dolls.. Not much but it's the first time I've ever done a display for another day besides Christmas... so be gentle.

The color is a little off in a couple of the photos. I did wash the two white doll dresses and they fluffed out prettier.

Bright, I think it's lovely! I like how you arranged the runner and the dolls are a perfect touch. My youngest daughter has a collection of the hard plastic dolls like you have.

    Very sweet...Just a touch of Valentine's!

I don't decorate much for Valentine's..plenty for the table, but just a few little things here and there in the house, and a wreath for the door..

    Bright,
What a terrific way to showcase the dolls. And I love the scarf arrangement--it echoes the skirts and petticoats on the dolls.

    Very nice. Less is more!

Hi Bright, I have just 3 words-
    Beautiful. Simple. Lovely.
AND I Love the color of your candle. Yummy.
That dish does make a perfect candleholder.
Nice to have your dolls out for the holiday.

I think it looks really good. I like the way you draped the runner, and I think turning that dish upside down to use as a candle holder was brilliant. The dolls turned out really nice. - Gail

Looks great Bright, I think the dolls show up so much better here than on the shelf before. Very creative to turn the bowl upside down for a candle holder, works great. You did good. ;o) Luvs

Aaawwhh! You gals are soo sweet!! Thank you soo much for all the wonderful comments. You make a girl feel great!! Especially coming from such talented people. Makes me want to try more things...and go shopping!! I really have enjoyed displaying the dolls that dad gave me since he's been gone a few years now. And the red has added a splash of color these cold days. Just got to figure out what's next. Thanks again.

Karen, I'm afraid I have nothing for St. Patie's day. Even though gram is irish and polish!!! I saw some pretty placemats at TJ Max. Just love that store. I didn't buy them though. They also have some cute leprchans (sp?)

Thanks again for the wonderful comments. I just love hanging out here.

Bright, for St. Pat's Day, it doesn't have to be leprechauns and shamrocks--you may have some green vases, dishes, towels, etc. that when mixed with white items give just the right touch for the holiday. Keep an open mind and walk through your house and peek into your cabinets, you may be surprised. I actually had a little green glass pitcher and salt/pepper shakers from DH's Grandmother that I had stashed in the china cabinet and had never used--this forum is good for getting us to use things we already have as well as looking for new treasures. ;o) Luvs

Bright, you REALLY don't have to be "ashamed" to post the pic of your Valentine decor. It is terrific how you displayed the dolls which are so special to you in a way that makes them Valentine-themed. I also have those red glass hearts you put along your runner.

Yes, start digging through those cupboards for your "green stuff"!
