Taking down Valentine Decor

I'm going to start to take down my Valentine Decor. I hate to do it but need a change. I have the four Clorox boxes I started with and will probably have to start another one with this years additions.

Minnie, I have to get more boxes tomorrow for my Valentine decos too. I'm ready to put up St Paddy's Day decos so I don't feel sad about taking V-day down. :~)

I took mine down yesterday. Table looked sort of bare afterwards. I just laid some placemats on it, and a pretty rose bowl and left the candles and candlesticks. Figured that would do until I start the St. Pat's setup. I had used the florist clay to hold my stacked plates together--it worked really good--I really had to pull and twist to get them apart. Luvs

I don't know what I want to put out next, my fairies, or Noah's Arks or little houses. Easter is in April this year so I have a month in between.

Glad to read this thread. I put away my Val stuff tonight and was thinking how I'd meant to do so sooner. Nice to know others just putting theirs away too. Started to get out the St Pat stuff but not enough energy to do the stacked plates so will probably do them tomorrow. Looks like I'm going to need some more so feel a trip to Michaels coming. Especially with the coupon in paper today. Always a good excuse to go with that 40% off.

I just put out some things I had around the house, didn't go & shop for anything, it's rather "BARE" compared to Judiths creations but heck, we're all newbies at this, right?

Please don't laugh. I thought I might be able to add some Irish things to it for St. Pattys Day.

Luvs, I took the V-day decs off my kitchen table Thursday, but just put my pig bowl back on it. I love my pig bowl, but the table looks so empty. I think I'm going to at least do a St Paddy Centerpiece just for the center of the table this week and then the night before I can set the whole table. I don't have as much for St Paddy's as I do V-day and won't be buying anything else this year. :~(

Minnie, Whatever you decide on please post a pic for us. It all sounds very pretty.

Purplemoon, DS just brought my empty V-day boxes up Saturday afternoon so I still don't have everything packed up. I'm always behind and I have to look closely at every ornament that was bought this year when I take them down just to admire them one more time. I can't believe I missed the Michael's coupon this week. It's probably a good thing though. ;~)

Yachter, Your table is very pretty. It gives a promise of the coming of spring. Are your wine glasses purplish? They are beautiful. And you already have some green on your table so you could add a few Irish things and be ready for St Paddy's Day. Smart thinking!

Yachter, your table looks very nice, and yes, it will be easy to add a bit more and have it ready for St. Pat's too. I'm ready for a glass of wine--can I come over? ;o)

Sandi, I only bought a few things for St. Pat's, and that was more than I had intended to buy! Just wanted to be able to participate with all of you for the next holiday! ;o)

Maybe I'll get DS and family to come for the corned beef & cabbage--my DH won't eat it, so will have to fix another meat for him.

No St. Pat's for you Minnie? Sounds like you have lots of other things to use in the meantime. Nice that you actually put your collections out to enjoy--so many people just won't bother. I just think it makes us happy and looks so cheerful--especially during the winter months.

Purplemoon, I thought you'd be heading over to BL to see that tree stump house--mine only had two of them. ;o)

Sandi, there should have been another Michael's coupon in this Sunday's paper. I think they're in every Sunday.

No decos for me to take down but all my flowers are all dead so need to get rid of them. ;o)

Yachter, I love those purple goblets of yours!!!

Luvs, didn't get out anywhere. Not feeling too good this weekend. Need to hit BL and Dollar Tree along with Michaels and Joanne's now. sigh. Tomorrow grocery day, so that is no fun. Maybe Wed.

Luvs, would dh eat ham? Same color and most of the things you would serve with corned beef would go with ham. After the parade last year we went back to my sister's for a ham dinner. It gave her a chance to use her beau Belleek dishes. After dinner the little grand d's did their Irish step dance routine!
Yachter, your purple stemware looks very pretty with your mats.

Karen, I'm sorry you had a bad weekend and hope you feel better soon. Maybe a little fun shopping trip is just what you need.

Luvs, Our BL didn't have any of the tree stumps. ;~(

Kathleen, The next best thing to owning Belleek would be eating on it! ;~)

Karen, sorry you are not feeling good. Yeah, those "practical" things like grocery shopping just keep interferring with the "fun" stuff, huh?

Sandi, did your big lots have all the "little men"? The tree stump houses were on display with them. I only saw two of the houses--bet they were selling out fast!

Kathleen, eating on Belleek would be so special, but I think it would make me nervouse--would just die if anything got broken! You are right, I can just do some ham for DH while the rest of us have the corned beef and cabbage. I didn't cook it last year (didn't decorate either) and missed it. I don't like to just let the holidays go by without doing something to observe it.

Luvs, BL had lots of gnomes in a couple of different sizes, but no tree trunks. Did you see the little gnomes kind of metal looking laying on the rocks? I bought one to use as a leprechaun and am going to paint "Blarney Stone" on the rock. They were too high though.
