Valentine's Table

I did this one in the beginning of the week, and forgot to post it..

My friend gave me this pretty set of napkins, placemats, heart plates, and she made the rings..

I posted it on my blog, but forgot to do it here...

The light was terrible. sorry the pics aren't very good!

    Kathleen,

I really love your colors. Are those dishes light tan? they look terrific--a surprise rather than the expected red-and-white. It is really pretty in any case. I also love the checkered runner and the just-big-enough nosegay in the napkin ring. It tempts me to do something on Valentine's Day, which we usually just sort of skip.

No, Magpie, it is all red and white..We were having a blizzard at the time, and the light was awful...didn't want to use a flash..

A blizzard! Then red-and-white is really appropriate. I have a set of off-white Wedgewood dishes with scallops and a red-and-white checked tablecloth (not with hearts, though). Now I need something solid red...you're really inspiring me!

Oh, as usual, this is SO pretty. Your friends napkin rings are so sweet, and I love those little heart dishes. - Gail

Kathleen...this is such a pretty table. You always have just the right accessories that make each table special.
The cute napkin rings fit in perfectly.

In my quest to find Dining Delight's blue rimmed plates (which I never found), I came across your placemats and runner. ALMOST got them. Now, after seeing your table, I'm kicking myself. Poop!
Nice that you received them, plus the handmade napkin rings, from a friend.

The square red place looks interesting. Can we see a close-up?

Very pretty.. I like the stacked heart boxes in the cloche and that pretty plate. And the ruffled plate the little pitcher is setting on!

What a pretty table Kathleen! I always love seeing your tablesettings. I love the stacking heart shaped boxes sitting on the little doily. Very cute!

Oh Kathleen! Pictures are very nice and showed me those lovely heart shaped boxes under the cloche... I'm wowed by the napkins and the rings your friend made. This table also makes me think to the Spring as it is a very fresh looking one!

What a great friend to gift you with all those pretty things . . . and what a wonderful way to brighten up a gray Winter's day! Your table looks like it's set for a nice cozy chat with a friend, with some hot tea and warm scones (I'm hungry, can you tell?? ). I love everything about your table and am crazy about that ruffled plate and ribbed pitcher! Is the plate new?

    Kathleen,
How pretty! As usual, it's just perfect. I saw this on your blog and showed Alfred that beautiful snow outside of your window that added just the right touch for a nice dinner for 2.
We haven't had a good snow around here in years and years. My DD says we can't buy snow!!!

You have a blog? Can I check it out, too?
It's snowing here at the moment. Hope ours stops soon.

Hey, I thought I posted to this! Must have hit the "return to forum" button instead of the "submit" one--hate it when I do that!

Anyway, I said I loved your table, and it was very clever of you to use the stacked boxes. Those napkin rings look really cute and I love the runner and napkins too. Sitting that cute little white pitcher on that gorgeous ruffled red plate is just a perfect touch too. It all looks so pretty.

Kathleen, I enjoyed seeing this earlier on your blog as well. The red and white is just SO VALENTINE'S looking and you have such beautiful dishes to make it look even more special. On your blog though I REALLY liked the heart-shaped meatloaf and rice you made to go with it - great idea! Wonder if Karen knows she isn't having to "suffer" so much now that you post your food pics on your blog! LOL!!

Are you kidding, DD? I'm dumb enough to go read her blog and see all that food there now! What can I say?
Other than I love Kathleen, LOL.
