Mardi Gras Table

Okay ladies.. here is my first tablescape on this forum.I layered a white tablecloth over my gold one because it made my gold plates look washed out. If you've never been to Mardi Gras in Mobile ( where it originated ),you haven't seen all the "beads" hanging from the very old oak trees downtown. I put some silvered branches in a glass holder filled with beads and used that as the centerpiece. The necklaces at each place setting were actually given to my sisters to wear at our meal. And since it's not Mardi Gras without King cake,we had that for dessert and my sister,Lydia, got to be "queen" for the day. Hope you enjoy !

Susan, your table turned out just beautiful. I love those beads. My colors!!! LOL. The one with the mask laid across the plate is really neat.
What a wonderful centerpiece you made. Gosh, I keep scrolling back to look at it all.

    SUPER job!

If this is your first with us, I sure hope we get to see many more.
Beautiful!! I really like the white overlaying the gold tablecloth. It added a lot of "punch". Love your green glasses and the pairing with the plates is perfect.
You pulled all the colors together very well. :)

Karen.. thank you for your sweet comments ! I have tons of Mardi Gras beads..lol.. so if you ever need some for a tablescape or whatever, just let me know ! My best friend and I went to every parade.. every day.. for 5 years straight and never left without a bag full of "beads". I only got to go to about 5 parades this year.. had to work.I did get to go to the Super Bowl parade in New Orleans this year and got to see that hunky Drew Brees up close and personal..be still my heart ..lol !

Milosmom, thank you ! If I can ever get all my stuff out of storage, you probably will see more since I had such fun with this ! I don't know why I've been so intimidated by doing tablescapes. I guess you just have to dive in feet first and don't let it scare you !

I like the Mobile Mardi Gras tree centerpiece. Your table is wonderful. I'm with Karen when it comes to the necklace with the mask. It looks great. What fun!

I think that was very clever of you to use the white branches with the beads in your centerpiece to replicate the beads hanging from the oak trees! I like your plates too, love the raised design on the edges. Some of those beads look like candies to me--or maybe I'm just hungry! ;o) Your table looks really nice--so glad you jumped right in to create it and share with us. Luvs

    Susan,
Great idea with the branch and beads.
    So true. So true.

I have a balcony outside on my second floor.
The grands play 'Mardi Gras' throwing from the balcony to the grands on the ground.
They ALWAYS manage to throw beads in the trees on either side of the balcony. LOL

susan...what a wonderful Mardi Gras table.
The colors you used with the beads, and your centerpiece, are just lovely.
I like the color of your plates and the raised design on them. Also, the mask beside the plate is such a nice accent.
This was really festive looking...glad you got to share it with us.
