Valentine Table

I didn't think I'd be here for Valentine's Day. We were supposed to be in FL..but due to Family matters..we are still here, in the cold & snow :(

So, I set up a Valentine table with this and that.. and with two different looks. These pictures are with a double centerpiece. I used Red Roses in a vase, along with pink ones in a crystal box. The tablecloth is actually a reversable quilt. I used this side, as I like its delicate pattern. I had the cups & saucers for years. I bought them at an Antique shop..I don't remember how much I paid.

Same setting with different lighting...

This setting is with just the Red Roses, and I rearranged things on the table. I'm noticing the stems in the vase..I should have put some clear crystals in it to hide them.

I bought the cherub with the Violin, a couple of years ago, at Marshalls, on clearance for $3. The Waterford Bell was a gift from a friend.

This is a different plate with roses..I had bought these at a TS for $2 ea. The Cherubs are actually Christmas Decos..that I attached to napkin rings. The Chargers are showing up as deep pink, but are actually Red. I bought them at Home Goods on clearance 6/$7..

I hope you enjoyed my 'Impromptu Valentine Table'..

Very pretty, Jane! I love your chargers and your crystal. As usual, it looks like a magazine picture...

Jane, your Cherubs are wonderful. And I think that first setting is absolutely gorgeouos with the double rose center-piece. I'm so sorry you didn't get to leave the snow and go to Florida, but it was lucky for us since we got to share in your beautiful table this evening.

I hope family matters resolved and you still get to take your trip in the near future.

Ditto! Love the first picture the best. The cherubs are soo sweet.. Very romantic setting.

I had a hard time deciding which one I liked best. They're all beautiful, but I think my favorite was the first one too. I love the cherubs you used on your napkin rings!!! I am going to have to borrow this idea from you.

They are very pretty, Jane, both of them..
And since you didn't ask us to pick one, I won't..
And I couldn't because I would be delighted to dine at either one!
But I will pick the Waterford bell, it is calling my name!
The tables are very romantic with the candle glow...
Sorry you didn't get to go to Fla..I am stuck here too, so you have company! :)

What a cosy atmosphere! I really like your table! Especially the glasses as glasses are my addiction... Also, the big red roses are splendid! Are they for real or are they silk roses? Whether silk or not, they're splendid and make the table gorgeous!

What a beautiful, romantic table! The quilt used as a tablecloth turned out so pretty, Jane, and I think that attaching the cherub Christmas decs to napkin rings for Valentines Day was such a clever idea . . . I love it! I'm also loving your dishes. They remind me of my own antique Pareek set, although mine don't have pink roses like yours do. Those are perfect for Valentine's Day! Not being able to spend V Day in Florida has got to be a big disappointment, though. Hope you have a nice one anyway.

Oh, how very pretty and romantic. You just know I'm loving all the roses. Those cups are so pretty and I love your plates with the roses on them. All your crystal items just make it sparkle. Very creative use of that pretty quilt and the cherubs too. It may be cold outside, but with this romantic table, it could get hot & steamy inside, huh? LOL

Thanks everyone for such nice compliments. I like the first arrangement too...I think the double centerpiece along with the lighting gave it more 'umph'..

Karen... thank you for the well wishes on getting to still go to Fl..we're hoping.

Prosperiety...the roses are actually red velvet. When I have them out, I get lots of compliments on them. They look so much more beautiful in person. I paid all of $3 a bunch (there are 3 bunches) at Walmart a couple of yrs ago!!

Kathleen.. We'll have to cheer each other on, if this cold weather continues much longer.

Luvs..you are too funny...as for hot and steamy... That would be when I'm having a 'Heat Surge' and no one wants to be around me when I'm having one of them!!

Thanks again to all. I love coming here, as this is the best place to be cheered up.

Sorry, you didn't get to go someplace warmer. Your table is really beautiful. I love all the cherubs, and the pretty plates and crystal. I am going to have to clean out a cabinet and find room so I can stack plates. I REALLY want to hit the thrift shops and find some new things. I want pretty tables too. - Gail

Woweeeeee. I love the look you've created. And you seem to be able to photograph them so well. I'd say your tables are definitely romantic. No doubt about it. Love the violinist. Very sweet addition.

How Romantic! There will be no romantic dinner for 2 at my house this year. Too many things going on. Too busy.
I need to get some candles before I can take pics of my table for 4.
But, if there was time, I would be delighted to sit at your beautiful table with the love of my life. I hope your DH appreciates it.

A very pretty table! Love your dishes!

Jane, the first pic really got me! So ROMANTIC looking with the table setting, candles and the lighting you used for the photographing of it. Your dishes and accessories are lovely. I especially like the idea of frames with names for place settings - I keep wanting to try that but haven't found any frames cheap enough - maybe I should start with just two.

DD, check the Dollar store. And sales, especially next year after Xmas for the little "ornament" frames too.
