Please share Electric grill comments

I currently own a very old Jenn Air cooktop (with the lava rocks) It has worked well for me for 18 years! Does anyone have any experience with the "new" Jenn Air or Wolf electric grills? Neither have the lava rocks as my old one does. I"m wondering if this makes a difference? I did notice the wattage on the newest Jenn Air Expressions line grill is double that of the older Designer line.

FYI, I have addressed a gas grill in an earlier post for my home; we can only do electric in our cottage however.

Jenn-Air grills are not the Jenn-Air grills of old.

Nexgrill,a Chinese manufacturer,purchased the rights to use the Jenn-Air name on grills.

Not very good but better than average for a Chinese made grill.

Kinda like saying amongst the junk,it is better than average junk.

Wolf is good. Firemagic is better.

Regarding lava rocks.

Stainless steel "flavorizer bars" work better than lava rocks.

During the first generations of electric/gas grills manufacters used this technology as a phycological bridge for people that used "organic" charcoal grills and were thinking about using these "synthetic" gas/electric grills.

They were intentionaly made to look like charcoal or some sort of combustible fuel.
