We have a bathroom which is roughly 7.5' x 5' with a tub/shower at the end of the 7.5 wall running perpendicular between the 5'walls. We have 20" tiles which I like & would like to use in a diamond pattern on the floor. There is a 51" x 18" cabinet in that floor area which makes it an "L" shape. I've drawn out the design on paper & it looks ok, but are 20" tiles too big for that space? We also want to tile the 3 walls around the tub up to the ceiling. Would the diamond pattern layout be too much? Should we mix diamond & grid patterns on the walls with a decorative strip separating them? Should we use a different size tile as we have to buy, not enough of what we have to do both. Want to stay with larger tiles, i.e. less grout lines... Any thought & ideas will be appreciated.
