Twilight Tablesetting

Ok, I admit it...I'm a totally obsessed TwiMom. I love Stephanie Meyer's Twilight Saga. To celebrate the DVD release of Twilight yesterday, my three daughters and I had dinner and a movie night.

If you've never read any of the four books in the saga or watched the movie, in a very basic nutshell, it's about a teenage girl (Bella Swan) who falls in love with a vampire (Edward Cullen).

All of the bookcovers are done in black, red and white...so that was the inspiration for the colors that I used. I decorated the table with apples, tulips, chess pieces and red ribbon...all from the covers of the books.

Bella tells Edward that he frequently dazzles people and he asks her...

We can see where Bella's heart lies...

We were blown away when Edward and Bella decided to join us for dinner!

Bella dines on Mushroom Ravioli while trying to get Edward to answer her many questions...

While the rest of us enjoyed our dessert of Topaz Dreams, in honor of the color of Edward's eyes, he enjoyed a glass of freshly squeezed mountain lion. LOL

No Cullen party would be complete without using some of Alice's (Edward's sister) twinkling lights.

Dinner was delicious and we had a wonderful time!

Oh how COOL was that!! I love the whole concept of your table..not to mention how great everything looks!
You really did an amazing job on all the 'details' right down to the dessert & Edward's eyes...lol
I remember all the 'Buzz' over the books. My daughter and her friends talked about them..and when the movie came out..I remember all the Hype at the premier.
The kids around here, have been getting a little carried away with being a Vampire..and wanting to be bitten by Edward...lol..hopefully ..this too shall pass!
All in All...your table is Great!

I am not into those books, but I am IN on your table!
You did a fabulous job...all the details!

Dream, do you have a blog?
If so you should do Tablescape Thursdays..you have so many great tables!
If you don't, start one just for your tables!

Maybe you should rethink the GARLIC bread..doesn't garlic repel Vampires???...LOL :)

    You are so creative!

What a beautiful table and such attention to detail! Love those plates you used.

Bet your daughters were thrilled with this party table, you made it fun and beautiful.

I've not read the books either, but they certainly seem to have quite a following.

I agree with Kathleen, your tablescapes are certainly blog worthy! Bet you would have quite a following!

DREEEEAAAAM! What a wonderful themed table! I am not familiar with those books/show/characters but was captivated by your table and the fabulous way you described each detail! With your representation of the various aspects of the books, I was able to quickly become acquainted. Like Kathleen said, you SHOULD start a blog if you don't already have one.

Now, let me compliment you on the table and food...only I don't know where to begin. The colours are so striking together and the props/accessories are worked in as if they are all things meant to be on a table.

And I think the best part is how you created and shared this all with your daughters. What a great bonding experience. Did they help you with the tablescape or did you surprise them with it? Just terrific! I will be back to look at this post again and again!

Another not into the movie or books, but I absolutely love the creativity of your table!! I'm so glad that you and your daughters took the time to enjoy your special evening . . . and thanks for sharing it with us, too!

Kathleen, the "garlic bread" call made me spew chai all over the study here!

My youngest daughter insisted telling me about the book blow-by-blow. May I add, yes YOU dazzle ME!

WOW! And double WOW!! Not into the books either, but your table is STUPENDOUS!

Every time you share a table with us I think, "This is the best. She can't top this." And then you do!

I agree with the others. Do the blog, Girl!! Share these tablescapes!

Dream, thats such a creative theme and so nicely done. I havent read the books or seen the movie but your descriptions and details help a lot in relating to the theme.

Lovely table! The red fabric under the charger is a great idea and it really makes everything pop. I am sure your daughters were thrilled!

Kathleen, LOL about your comment on the garlic bread! :)

Luvs knows that I'm a Twilight fan so she linked me over here to your party! How cool is this? May have to do something like this with the Twimoms around here. Your table and "guests" were awesome! Love the details! ~Anj

dreamgoddess, my husband bought the DVD Twilight so my youngest and I could have a movie night together. hahaha I think you've even inspired HIM! BTW, I just realized you and I frequent the same recipe site.

DG, I rented the DVD tonight. I'd been chatting about the books with my friend Anj, and then you posted your gorgeous tablescape. Even DH enjoyed the movie, although at first it wasn't going to watch it because he thought it was a "chick flick". I showed him your tablescape, and he loved the "quotes" you had framed and put on the table. See what you started? LOL

So Luvs, did you like the movie??? I highly recommend the books if you haven't read them. My middle daughter got me hooked on them, then my oldest daughter caught the bug. Even her husband loved the movie too.

For all us Twilight fans, New Moon will be in theaters in November...maybe we should all plan a NM tablesetting! LOL

Twizzis, it's great to see another RZ person here. I'm the forum host in Table Settings...it would be great if you dropped in there!

Anj, there sure are alot of us Twimoms, aren't there! When my two youngest daughters went to see the movie in the theater, the principal from the Jr. High here where I live was there. She's in her 60's and was going on and on about how much she loved the books. Just goes to show, the saga transcends age, doesn't it!

Kathleen, I laughed about the garlic bread! As it turns out, we actually didn't have it. Just plain old French rolls, but I didn't have time to change the menu.

As for a blog, I really wish I did have one. I did look at setting one up on blogspot a while back, but was totally clueless as to how to actually do it. In the movie, Bella's mom said she literally repels technology. My oldest daughter says that sounds just like me.

So, what exactly is the attire when dining with a vampire? Do you need to wear a crucifix just in case? HA!

Very, very clever. I just love out-of-the-ordinary themes. (And, man, this was out there!) You pulled it off wonderfully. I can see it for Valentine's Day or New Year's Eve too. Great job!

By the way, I like your "placemats."

OA, we were all decked out in our Twilight t-shirts. Mine had a photo of the Cullen crest on it. I wish I had thought to take a photo of us. Absolutely no crufixes...this is one vamp I wouldn't want to chase away. LOL!

The napkins were an act of sheer desperation to try to come up with some placemats. I had none in red and I couldn't find any in town at the last minute. These were some that I found at WM after Christmas for I think $.50 for a set of 2.

Yep, it was definitely an "out there" idea, but I had a blast doing it! I think this is one of my most favorite settings I've done.

DG, I did enjoy the movie. My DH "humored" me by watching it and ended up enjoying it too. He liked that it wasn't as "bloody" as expected! LOL I'm not crazy about the fact that the stories are for "juveniles" who may not separate fantasy from real life well--but then again, I remember staying up late with my friends watching the old horror movies for the "thrill" of being scared and I don't think they influenced me in any way in real life!

I was just wondering what RZ stands for? Am I missing out on something good?
