NuHeat (fitting) question

After writing this question, I decided to put the actual question at the top, and the lead-in afterwards.

Re: Nu Heat mat too big (my fault) for my WC

I'm asking if it is possible (in a good way, not like sure its possible but a bad idea) to cut the mat (not the wire) so that it can be laid flat arrange around the toilet and thus fit in my WC.

The rest of the story...

I'm in the midst of a whole-house gut remodel. My contractor has never heard of Kerdi or NuHeat or Ditra, and threw away my Schulter shower curbs thinking they were packing material...but after that small misunderstanding and a month of their work I am happy to say I am completely confident in their ability to manage this.

He asked me to find out if the NuHeat mats can overlap (no they can't). I think he is just trying to find a way to use the mat I got for the WC but now will not fit.

I know from this board that NuHeat doesn't want their mats cut, but I also am pretty sure I would never try to press any warranty issues them them if my decision to cut a mat (not the wire) didn't work.

He has prepared the floor beautifully, my electrician is excited about finally getting to install some of these, and they want to do it right.

I would never have known under-tile-heat mats, Ditra, and Kerdi existed but for Gardenweb!
