Lovely finds, Jeanne! I can't resist nice pottery pieces either and I love your collection of blue as well as the new ones. Great you got to go to Branson, it's on my 'Go-To' list but is too far east for our next trip.

We're heading out in a few weeks and I've been researching places to shop. I'm hoping to find every outlet, thrift, and antique stores, and a few yard sales as well! You've set the bar pretty high for treasures so I hope to find a few that measure up! ;-D

Did you hit the Walnut Bowl outlet? Everyone thinks it's just walnut bowls, but it has all kinds of decoartive items at dirt cheap prices.

We go to Branson about once a year, it's about a eight hour drive for us, so it's one we made alot before I lost my fear of flying!

I'm not a good car rider either, so we always went places that were within 8 hours drive for us.

You did great, the bunny with the flowers on it is my fav. The deer is beautiful & all the other things too!

Jeanne, I love the little deer beside your book. That's just perfect. The little birds go well with your pottery and I really like your new bunny and we all love arcorns! There's something about your pottery people that brings a smile. So different and thanks for sharing their eyes are holes. May sound funny but I love details.

Thanks, PM, LG & yachter! PMoon, I'm a photo fanatic...if you haven't figured that out already (LOL) ...and I was working when that book came out! And I love it with all the photo illustrations! It's a good one...your GD will enjoy it along with you!

Lgal...DH & I were disappointed because we were expecting flea markets (open) all along the way...March is a bit early, we found out...usually in April...but the year round fleamarkets (businesses) were open. We like to go thru "junk" treasures! So have fun on your trip! You'll find junk treasures, too, I'm sure!

yachter...yeah! the walnut bowl outlet was in this factory outlet store..beautiful bowls! I resisted! Also Jim Shore items (for PMoon)... Denton pottery ...which I really had to resist & Chicago cutlery & Case pocket knives...it was a WONDERFUL place! We're 530 mil from Branson...which was way too commercial for us...but we loved our experiences there...dining in a Japanese resturant & the wonderful SIX performance & staying in a condo for the first time ever! TaDah! But that factory outlet...you Holiday-ers would go crazy for! Jeanne S.

The little birds are so sweet as is the bunny,Goebel made some cute ones,yours reminds me of them. The deer is lovely & fits right in with your wooded home. Makes lot more sense to have holes in eyes for the S/P set then in top of the heads. Glad you had a fun vacation!! Jan

wow! Jeanne, you sure found some neat treasures! The deer is perfect with your book, and I love the birds and bunny. You have quite a nice collection of pottery pieces, and those cute little people will be a fun addition.

We went to Branson a couple years ago with the motor home. It was fun, but much more commercialized than I had expected. The park where we stayed was really neat, and I really enjoyed the old downtown area with the Dimestore packed to the gills with stuff as well as the antique/craft malls. ;o)

Do any of you ever go to the craft fairs in Northern Arkansas in the Spring or Fall? I've been lucky enough to get to do that a couple of times and it was wonderful! Couldn't believe all the neat locations and the fields full of tents full of handmade crafts and/or delicious food!

luvs...yes, it was very commercial & we happened upon the old Branson right when we first got there! Hit the candy store (the best caramel!) & that 5 & dime store you mentioned...elbow to elbow in there...but got a couple fun old things for motorhome...Jacob's Ladder Tumbling Toy & remember, "Bloonies"...the little toothpaste like tubes & teeny straws that you blow to make bubblegum like bubbles! G'kid activities for camping!

Thanks sunny, jane & punk...I've been looking for that special deer & was happy that DH spotted it... $8 so I thought that was a good price & scale for my book & chenille snowman! I tried to find the pottery people on ebay but no luck yet...they are interesting...I think something was originally in the pot the man is carrying??? Jeanne S.

Jeanine, just watched your guys on youtube and they are wonderful singers. Sure give the Beach Boys some competition, don't they? Bet is was a fantastic show. I have a relative who performs as a clown there. Maybe someday I'll make it to visit the relatives.

Seeing your snowman again makes me want to rethink donating my lime green and white chenille bedspread. It's got to be at least 30 years old and still looks like new. Wish it was plain white and I'd try a snowman like yours. It's so cool. Did you make it or buy it?

You know, I like every single thing you got. There's not one piece I'd pass by. Your finds are wonderful.

I like pottery too. My everyday dishes that I picked out before we were married (almost 40 years ago) are pottery. I got another set of everyday dishes in attempt to keep up with fashion once, but was never pleased and after a couple of years, pulled back out what I really loved and I am still using them today.

I would have gone crazy if I'd have been with you and your hubbie on that trip. Good thing for my pocketbook that I wasn't!

Was the Japanese restaraunt "The Wall" by chance? I don't eat it but my DH loves the place. We go up there for shopping , dinner, shows,fudge!! *grin* and to play mini golf occasionally since there is nothing to do on our side of the state line. LOL
You came at the best time despite not everything being opened yet. The traffic up there is horrific!!! during peek season. LOL

Bad for the locals (i.e. me) but sooo much fun for someone visiting. lol

So glad to hear that you had a great holiday. I have free tickets for Branson pretty often (from the radio station where I work), but DH says it's too commercial for him too, so we never go. The whole area is pretty and we go all around it. I'm glad you found some goodies. That deer is super (perfect with the book), as well as the birds and bunny.

It sounds like a fun trip, Jeanne, and you came back with some great new pretties. From your post, I take it that the snowman is not new? It's darling!!! Love your new deer, too. Your book, "Stranger in the Woods" was a favorite of my DD when she was younger. I know we have it around here someplace.
So you enjoyed Branson? I've never been there myself, but recently finished reading Andy William's new autobiography, "Moon River & Me" and it's made me want to take a trip there someday soon. BTW, the book was great! Did you get a chance to see any shows while you were there?

I would love to go through that store! I have a few deer pieces; some were purchased at a yard sale and had sad looking red and green ribbons glued around their necks. I removed the ribbons and replaced with a pastel green ribbon for the summer. Then changed to a sherbet orange for my call display and gold for winter.
