Hello

I'm a swedish student who makes a design project for Asko.

I would like your help with three questions about the Asko Brand.

1) Three words that best describe the brand (according to you).

2) Name two competitors which are comparable to Asko (for dishwashers)

3) If Asko was a car, what car would that be?

Hi Jon,

1) tank built, swedish common sense of really important features, no useless bells and whistles.

2) Miele and Siemens ... if electronic parts weren't made by ELMARC. Asko machines are like a gorgeous person with a tank built body but with a weak brain ....
It's a shame Merloni uses on ASKO the very same same PC boards they use on ELTO/Servis/ARDO/other thousands regional budget brands

If you want to know more : antoniomerloni.it and this heavy .pdf document. It is the analysis of the crysis of Merloni Group (it's on the bankruptcy borderline). It's in italian but there are understandable diagrams expecially on the pages 25 ---> 36
I really hope they have recovered and now outsource the electronics from a more reliable manufacturer than their internal one (elmarc)

I love this game.
Background:
I had Asko DW that died. I still own Asko W/D. We drive Volvo now. We owned Saab before.

1. Practical, energy efficient, cleans well.
2. Bosch and Miele (had both!)
3. Volvo (now owned by Chinese?)

I, too, find this an interesting exercise.

1. Strong, Silent, Stealth
2. Miele, Bosch
3. VW Eos (easy to overlook but packs a wallop aesthetically and operationally)

I have owned two Asko dishwashers one currently, so:
1) solid design, cleans well, shoddy accessories (rack tips break off)
2)Bosch, Miele (european style)
3) High end VW, low end BMW, toyota camry (pre problems):(solid for daily use, versatile and efficient, better than your average product)

ASKO WM & dryer owner (long time); have DW, never installed it

1> Underappreciated/underrated here in US; straight forward workhorses; washing machine = superlative performance, but dryer = not so much, therefore mixed performance

2)Miele, Bosch

3) 1995 SAAB Turbo
