So, our kitchen design is finalized, but we need to decide for sure on appliances before our kitchen people order the appliance cabinets. If you have had a bad experience or problem with any of the following, I'd really love to know before we order...

36" induction cooktop in black, GE Profile

36" downdraft, GE Profile

Kitchen Aid Side by Side counter depth fridge in Stainless (no ice/water on door)

Electrolux double wall ovens (basic, not the Icon) in ss

Bosch 500 series dishwasher (will have panel)

We still haven't chosen a micro. Need a countertop model (under 24" width). If you have any recommendations, that would be great.

THANKS!

You are smart not to buy the same brand appliances for the entire kitchen. A good thing to do , is like, say you are looking for a refrigerator, do a search for "Most Reliable Refrigerator I did and here's what I found, "OVERVIEW:The Jenn Air JS42FWD[W] has received one of Consumer Reports highest overall ratings. It's definitely a consumer favorite both for its gorgeous built in design and its spacious capacity and well designed interior. The Jenn Air refrigerators are extremely reliable and an exceptional list of unique features. Definitely a model to consider, especially if you're in the market for a built in unit.
Now if one were to read up on other Jenn-air appliances, especially cooktops you would tend to think that ALL Jenn-Air appliances are Junque, No so, as you see above. In fact I have had the Jenn-air 48 inch built in for 3 years now and it has been trouble free. You are smart not to get the ice thru the door as these cause the most service calls.
I did the same for Electrolux, Now if you read the posts about their Fridges, You would never buy an Electrolux, but do a reliability check on their Induction cooktops , for example and You will see it is rates as #1 by Consumer Reports. I have both the Convection Oven as well as the Speed oven by Electrolux (3 years) and both great and trouble free.
Anyway, do this search, Most Reliable Refrigerator, Oven, etc etc, and chances are you wont wind up with warm beer and cold food!!!!(you do know the Brittish like warm beer because their Fridges are made by Lucas Electric, (dont ya)?

    Good Luck

I have a 5 year old KA side-by-side. I haven't had any problems with it whatsoever (except it isn't counter depth and sticks out into my skinny kitchen). Mechanically it's very nice. Fit and finish are also nice. Took me a few years to even realize the (nice glass) shelves slide out!
